More ambitious.

I haven’t logged into this thing in forever. The interface ( you can’t see it ) for word press is so weird… I’m used to drupal since thats what i’ve been staring at and using for the past couple of months now, since thats the backend we’re using for my special study class. Yes its my last semester of college and its kinda scary. When was the last time I posted here… early last semester? Crazy, time went by so fast.

This is kinda lame.. i cant even upload my own images to this thing. Whack. I can’t even update this thing to the lastest cause it says something doesn’t exist.. weird. What if I installed Drupal here, haaha.

I never really used Pandora until I got my iPhone. But its only after using it for a couple months now that I realize that the app is freakin’ awesome. For those who don’t know (who doesn’t?) Pandora is a music application which plays songs similar to an artist or song you tell it to search for. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyways, Pandora is great to listen to while walking to class, walking to and from my car, and whenever I can when i’m not talking with anyone, or just bored. It makes it feel like i’m not really walking, or something, and when I get to my destination, it’s like I just barely left to get there. Sometimes I wanna finish the song before I get to the destination, lol. During these time periods, I’ve discovered lots of great new songs, and even songs that I’ve just never heard or listened to in a longgg while. Yeah theres some days where it chooses some not so great songs or have no idea where this particular song came from, and theres ads every now and then (if you have the free version, that is), but most of the time, its great!  It gives me a chance to find new music while just walking around school.

I noticed that when I feel shitty or whatever, bummed, etc, the right song can always change change that. Today, Pandora played all these cool new songs and it was pretty crazy not having to press next. I wanted to listen to the songs again and I finally realized, THERES NO BACK BUTTON. So make sure you thumbs up or list down the artists/songs you get cause it’ll be hard to find them again. Haha.

Turns out Nes and I had our last classes cancelled today! (I know, lucky right? haha). So being the hungry people we are, we went to go eat at Chibas. And of course… it was freakin’ good. And filling. The only thing that sucks about that place is the seating, but the food makes up for it. We tried the sushi poppers to have something new, and those things are great. GREAT! We also got tempura roll and 18pcs california maki. Good stuff. Is there anything not good? Well, besides the raw stuff…

I decided to install mac osx onto my laptop once again because, well… i’m starting to like it… a little I guess. It doesn’t work perfectly (touch pad doesn’t even work), but its just nice to have it to mess around with. Yeah, you can call my hypocritical or whatever, but I guess its realized to just like and be proficient in both windows and mac. I mean, the only thing I don’t really like about mac is the one mouse button, which is remedied by using a regular, non-mac mouse, and the price of them which I still think is a major rip off for what you get.

But now after having to go through using mac OSX at school all the time, i’ve gotten used to it and kinda wish I had one of my own. I feel that its not really needed to have a mac to be in the field of design, but it seems like macs are often associated with designers, and just has that designer attitude around it. It’s weird. Apple must be really good at getting people to buy their shit, cause it may just work on me. Hell, I’ve already bought a freakin iPhone 4 from them, and I never saw that coming after i talked so much shit about them. The retina screen and build quality bought me out though, compared to the Samsung Captivate/Galaxy S and other android offerings ATT had. But that’s another story.

Mac osx is crazy though, Idk what it really is, but everythign just seems to look better. Pictures look nicer, text looks way better, movies look much clearer/cleaner, and just anything on screen looks better. If i were to have the same wallpaper on osx and windows, the osx would just look better even if its the same exact image. Its weird, and idk why that happens. I know mac has better color management than windows, but can that really make all the difference? Its pretty crazy, and I don’t think i’m exaggerating this.

Anyways, I messed around in GarageBand and that program is pretty sweet and only on OSX. Its literally drag and drop, to make some crazy catchy tunes. Yeah, its not my original music, and I feel like its a little cheating, but its just nice making good sounding music through compilations of created musical clips. Its kind of like designing poster or ad of something, I use other peoples work in photoshop, but just design it in a nice way. Same with with garageband, but with regards to music, designed in my own way.

I wish I had a background foundation in music though. Then I could understand how to create more successful, meaningful tunes, rather than slapping random stuff until it sounds good, haha. Oh well, its fun, and thats what it’s all about, right?

On Monday we were hungry once again, so Nes and I decided to get Maki from Chibas. It was 18 pieces and it was really a great snack to have! It was satisfying, but not to filling, and it came with 18 pieces for like… less than $6. Adding spicy mayo made it 100x better. I want some more….

Last Sunday, we went to go eat at Woodstock Pizza. Man, this place was expensive. Gotta really start watching out on spending money for food. Food is freakin expensive man. It all adds up!

BUT the pizza was really good. I mean, it better taste good for the price it was worth. Me and Nes got… actually, I forgot what it was called already. Oh well, it was good. It was the last choice on their signature menu.

Afterwards, even though we were really full, we went to yogurt land since we passed by and were just really tempted to go. I figured I could grow a dessert stomach like Nes has. I’m glad we went though. I got some really good flavors: Green apple tart, blood orange tart, and i forgot the other one, but it looked like a lemon (it was yellow and citrusy, but not lemon) tart. Triple Tart ftw. I don’t add toppings though. Nes got pumpkin and regular tart, but she didnt finish it, booooooo.

Do ice cream vendors and the like increase their prices during the summer? I swear ice cream never used to cost like $7 for a little tiny thing, but I guess. Probably because they know people will still buy it, right?

Anyways, me and Nes went to baskin robins for some ice cream. I got a smoothie instead though, while she got quarterback crunch and new york cheesecake ice cream. At least, I think those were the name of the flavors. I know they were both good though, both really good. Look how much she’s enjoying it! It better be good for that price.

Nes and I ate ihop yesterday since we both were really hungry and she had a craving for it. She got this avocado bacon omelet which was super good. I got cinnistack pancakes which was alright, not as good as Ernestine’s! Oh well, everything was good and worth it. We decided that next time we’d try another place for breakfast, since breakfast foods are the best! I’m hungry again…

Might seem like I’m trying to show off, but I’m really not. It’s more of something I can read back on to see the stuff I’ve gotten over the year. This isn’t everything though.

Anyhow, since I worked my ass off during the summer, its only normal to be buying things for myself, right? So heres some of the stuff I got. I never thought I’d get an xbox, or an IPHONE, surprisingly, but I did. I got a good deal on the xbox via craigslist. $170 for the mw2 edition… with two controllers, 250gb hard drive, and the mw2 game, even though I don’t like it. I mainly got it for the jasper chipset, which runs much more cool, allowing the system to be more quiet, and also pretty much fixes the red ring of death error that everyone with old models seems to get. Yeah its not a slim, but I saved a lot of money getting this older version which is just as good.

I also got a new arcade stick for the xbox since ps3 sticks aren’t compatible with xbox. It was on sale for $100 anyways, so it wasn’t too bad. Street fighter is like the only game I play anyways, even though it pisses me off like no other. It pisses me off, yet I blow so much money on it. Oh well, nothing I can do now. Don’t mind me if I complain about that game a lot.

As for the iphone, I was supposed to get the Samsung captivate, but after testing both the iphone and captivate, I felt the iphone won. It just felt much better and the screen was way better in my opinion. Yeah the captivate has better brightness and vibrance, but the iphone has higher resolution with its retina display which makes so much nicer to read, as well as super sharp pics. Also, when the iphone is jailbroken, its amazing. Cydia, installous, etc etc. I do sometimes wish I got the captivate just because it’s a google device and runs android, rather than getting the phone that everyone has, but whatever. Glad I got a smartphone though. Its really handy and something I really use and enjoy everyday.
